Sunday morning worship at Living Hope

At Living Hope, Sunday worship lies at the heart of who we are and what we do as a church. Our corporate life in Christ is shaped, first and foremost, by the the weekly assembly every Lord's Day. Sunday worship is not just one program among many. It is the highlight of our week; the jumping off point for all the other spiritual endeavors.

Children At Living Hope

In our Sunday School classes for children, we take seriously the call of our Lord Jesus Christ to “let the little children come to me and do not hinder them” (Matthew 19:14). Through prayer, hearing & responding to the Bible, review of the Westminster Shorter Catechism, and singing of hymns, the children of Living Hope are given a loving environment to come unhindered to our Lord Jesus Christ. Click here to read more about our Sunday School philosophy, goal (prayer really), and methods.

After Sunday School, children are encouraged to worship together with their families in the main worship service. For families with small children, a nursery space is available in Room 11 for parents who require space to step away and tend to the youngest members of the church.

Following the corporate worship service, families enjoy snacks, coffee, and fellowship.

Monthly Fellowship Meal

Join us after the worship service once a month for an all-church potluck style fellowship meal. Typically, these meals take place on the first Sunday of the monthbut monitor the church's calendar of events to confirm. Bring a dish to share and stick around at Valley Christian High School.

*Fellowship Meals not held on the same month of our Evangelical Feast Day events. To confirm the date of our next Fellowship Meal, check the Calendar page.

More Commonly Asked Questions

Why do you call church 'The Divine Service'?

We love the name “Divine Service” because it perfectly captures what we believe is happening when we gather for worship. The word “divine” points us to God—He is the one who is actively serving His people in worship. Through His Word read and preached, through the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper, and through the prayers and praises of His people, God is at work. He is forgiving sins, strengthening faith, and nourishing our souls.

What else makes Reformed worship distinct?

Our worship is characterized by a Scripture-filled liturgy. We believe that our worship should be shaped by the Word of God, not by our own preferences or the latest trends. Our service follows a dialogical pattern—God speaks to us and we respond.

What is your music style?

We practice unified congregational singing of Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Our repertoire includes historic tunes that have stood the test of time as well as more recent compositions that are faithful to Scripture.

Do you have any children's programs?

Children are covenant members of our church and are encouraged to participate fully in the life of the congregation. During worship, children stay with their families. A nursery is available in Room 11. Sunday School meets at 9:00 AM.

How should I dress?

Come as you are! Christian liberty is afforded to all. No one will ever be turned away or made to feel uncomfortable based on their dress.

Do you partake of the Lord's Supper every week?

Yes, we celebrate the Lord's Supper every Sunday unless no ordained minister is available to administer the sacrament.
